At last, after 6 months (around 25 weekend review sessions), 25 brave and courageous reviewees took the Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) held in Riyadh.
The SPLBE for ECE profession was held simultaneously in Riyadh and Al-Khobar and other foreign chapters last Nov. 16 & 17 together with other professions: Accountants, Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
In Riyadh, the Institute of Electronics Engineers – Central Region Chapter (IECEP-KSA-CRC), a newly formed IECEP foreign-based organization, who begun conducting their review classes in the middle of May 2010 one month after its IECEP accreditation was able to encouraged 25 examinees to take the Board Exam held at the Philippines Embassy Chancery Hall, Diplomatic Quarter, Riyadh, KSA.
The event was spear-headed by Philippines Professional Organization (PPO CRC-KSA) who welcomed the Philippines Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) delegation on Nov. 14. PRC chief of registration division Ms. Perla D. Sayana and Arc. Angeline T. Chua arrived safely in Riyadh on Nov. 13, 2010 to administer the board examination in compliance with Executive Order No. 835 issued on October 6, 2009.
Registration and orientation program for examinees and proctors marked the day 1 and day 2 of the event. It was followed by board examination from Nov. 16 up to 18 for all professions. IECEP-KSA-CRC played a major role giving its logistics support during the event. All the 23 IECEP examinees coming from Central Region and 2 from Western region were able to come during the exam. Mathematics was given to ECE examinees on Nov. 16 in the morning followed by Electronics in the afternoon. On Nov. 17, it was GEAS in the morning followed by Electronic System in the afternoon. The IECEP-KSA-CRC officers are present to give its moral supports.
Based on personal interviews from examinees right after each examination, some examinees said that the ECE Board Exam is generally not so difficult while some examinees said that examination is very tough and said that they do not know where the questions are coming from. Towards the end of the event, everybody have a smile on their face which only proves that their effort and hardship pays off.
Overall, the event has been very successful, and whether or not the examinees have been successful too will be determined by the official PRC result once it is published in newspaper in the next few weeks to come.
