IECEP-KSA-CRC conducted its 4th Technical Seminar titled “Embedded Micro-Controller and PECE Application and Documentation Workshop” which was moved from its original schedule of April 24, 2015 to May 1, 2015 at Orchid Al Mansour Hotel, King Abdulaziz Road,Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Embedded Micro-Controller is a technical seminar introducing the Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC). PIC is a family of modified Harvard architecture microcontrollers made by
Microchip Technology, derived from the PIC1650originally developed by General Instrument’s Microelectronics Division. The name PIC initially referred to Peripheral Interface Controller.
This was the topic discussed by our Technical Expert Engr. Ricky Manalo, PECE. He provides introduction about the embedded systems and the programming applications of PIC micro-controllers.
He started the topic by providing architecture of a PIC microcontroller, block diagram, the microcontroller family and the benefits of the PIC microcontroller such as faster speed, lower
cost, easier and quicker development. He then followed the discussion about the PIC microcontroller package kit, the overview of programming languages, and its technical requirements. He discussed lastly the different application of PIC Microcontrollers.
The second part of the technical seminar is about the PECE Application and Documentation Workshop.
The PECE workshop was discussed by Engr. Jonathan Tiston, PECE. The PECE stands for Professional Electronics Engineer. The title PECE comes from the Republic Act 9292 also called “The Electronics Engineering Law of 2004”. The updated National Building code of the
Philippines requires signing of a Professional Electronics Engineers.
He started the discussion about the updated National Building Code of the Philippines where the PECE is one of major stakeholders in signing a building plan. He also provides the scope and nature of practice of an Electronics Engineer and PECE. He further discussed the Initial Requirements for PECE Application and the PECE documentation.
IECEP-KSA-CRC successfully conducted the seminar and Engr. Manalo and Engr. Tiston shares their technical experiences for the PIC Microcontroller and the PECE documentation process and
procedures.
