6th Technical Seminar Year 2016 on LAMP Technology

Riyadh –IECEP KSA CRC held its 6thTechnical Seminar last 17th of June 2016 at the White Palace Hotel in Riyadh. This seminar is to enhance the participants not only with the technical expertise but also managerial expertise relating to managing databases and the software related to it.

Jess Kendrick M. Gamboa, PMP, CCNP, JNCIP, PECE, ASEAN Eng was the speaker of the seminar. Engr. Gamboa is currently a Network Project Manager in a Saudi Electric Company.

The topic of the seminar is LAMP: Web Development Platform, the intended attendees are engineers with background in management, databases, software development and those dealing with large file of data and to deploy a practical web-based database.

Engr. Gamboa started the discussion about the different types of Operating Systems, Servers and databases. Among the discussed topics were UNIX, Linux, Microsoft, MySQL, PHP, Workbench and Open Source Software’s.

The discussion is followed by the proper topic about LAMP. LAMP is short for Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, an open-source Web development platform, also called a Web stack, which uses Linux as the operating system, Apache as the Web server, MySQL as the RDBMS and PHP as the object-oriented scripting language.

Engr. Gamboa discussed not just the definition type but also provides videos on how to install properly the Ubuntu Linux from the beginning using virtual machines. He is the one created the videos of the installation and able to describe step-by-step in order to fully understand by the attendees. Afterwards, other videos show the installation of Apache, MySQL and Workbench.

He also describes the basic concepts and use of virtualization software called VirtualBox. He also provides the different sequence of commands that uses CLI code for MySQL.

IECEP-KSA-CRC successfully conducted the seminar and Engr. Gamboa shared his technical experiences and knowledge to attendees.
