Electronics Technician (ECT) Licensure Awareness towards recognition as Professional in the Philippines
On February 28, 2012, the IECEP-KSA-CRC held an Officer’s Meeting at Dr. Cafe – Khurais Road, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and created a new committee solely for the Electronics Technician Profession. The said committee is the new product of IECEP-KSA-CRC from the collaborated ideas of its Officers led by Engr. Jandee R. Bonifacio on how to expand the services of the organization to all Electronics Practitioners in Central Region-Saudi Arabia. The Committee is fully described as:Electronics Technician (ECT) Licensure Awareness towards recognition as Professional in the Philippines pursuant to Republic Act No. 9292 – Electronics Engineering Law of 2004.
The main objective of this committee is to help our non-licensed Electronics Practitioners especially but not limited to those who are not Electronics Engineering (ECE) Graduates to secure ECT License towards recognition as Professional in the Philippines. The beneficiaries of this committee are the Associate Members (Non-Licensed Electronics Practitioners) and IECEP Organization in general.
The following are the activities of the committee: a.) Encourage non-licensed Electronics Practitioners in Central Region- Saudi Arabia to register with IECEP-KSA-CRC as Associate Members. b.) Enlighten Associate Members on RA 9292 c.) Conduct FREE scheduled Studies/Review in preparation for Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) d.) Help Associate Members in filing ECT Licensure Exam Application in PRC.
The committee is headed by: Engr. Catalino Criste (Chairperson), Engr. Jandee R. Bonifacio (Committee Head), Engr. Rito Banan (Committee Member), and Registered Master Electrician Rene Gamurot (Committee Member).
The Republic Act No. 9292 – Electronics Engineering Law of 2004 has stipulated many provisions about Electronics Technician Profession. One example of the many provisions of the Act is: ARTICLE III – EXAMINATION, REGISTRATION AND LICENSURE; SEC. 14. Qualifications for Examinations. – In order to be allowed to take the examination for Electronics Engineer or Electronics Technician, an applicant must, at the time of the filing of his/her application, establish to the satisfaction of the Board that: (d) For the Electronics Technician examinations:
(1) is a graduate of an Associate, Technician, Trade or Vocational course in electronics or, subject to the evaluation of the Board, such equivalent and/or related formal or non-formal course or program from any school, college, university or training institution recognized by the Government or the State where it is established, after completing a resident course or program of not less than two (2) years, or (2) has completed at least the minimum third-year equivalent of a Bachelor of Science program in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Electronics Engineering program according to CHED guidelines, or, subject to the evaluation of the Board such equivalent and/or related engineering course or program from any school, institute, college or university recognized by the Government or State where it is established.
On March 2, 2012 FRIDAY, the FREE Studies/Reviews in preparation for Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) has been started, attended by 5 IECEP-KSA-CRC Officers/Reviewers and 8 interested Non-Licensed Electronics Practitioners. The Committee is confident that it can produce 100 percent ECT Board Passers if all its members will take this program seriously as the committee do.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 6 out of 15 passed the Electronics
Technician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Electronics Engineering in: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Al-Khobar and Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in Doha, Qatar last October 2012.
The Six (6) Passers are all members of IECEP-KSA-CRC.

Hello po, tanong ko lang po. Graduate po ako ng bsit- electronics and comm. technology. kumuha po kasi ako ng ECT board exams sa NTC dati yr 2008. pumasa naman po sa awa ng Ama. pumasok ako sa gobyerno pero hindi ako maregular at hindi nirerecognize yung license ko at hanngang volunteer lang po ako. dapat daw prc. kaya pwede ba akong kumuha ngayon ng prc exams ng PRC? atska, pag may license na po ako, kailangan ko pa po bang magtake ng exam ulit? thnx po

good evening po sa inyong lahat dito….ang (ECT) electronics techncian po gustong kumuha dito ay pwede po yong graduate ng electronics course sa tesda,vocational course,undergraduate or graduate sa any engineering course basta may 7 yrs employment experience sa hindi graduate at 5 yrs sa graduate……then hanap ka ng office IECEP office dyan sa inyo bayad ka for membership…then hanap ka uli ng tatlong PECE to certified your work experience ,meron sila form dyan basta BAYAD ka agad……..preparation ka palang sa requirements hanggang pwd kanang mga apply sa board exam. sa PRC….piniperahan kana…… kunwari pumasa kana sa board exam. sa (ECT) din happy kana bayad ka naman sa association for take OAT….Tapos my PRC license kana as reg. electronics technician ,mayabang kana at naging contractor kana sa mga cellsite at sa mga building construction ,installer ng electronics works CCTV…..Tapos kumuha ka ng electronics permit sa cty. engineers office,sabi nila sino po ang contractor or installer or supervisor/ in-charge of electronics works…sabi nila hindi ka pwde dito kasi reg.electronics technician kalang…..kailangan (PECE)PROFESSIONAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEER ang allowed to sign dito….ikaw ngayon hindi ka magalit nyan peperahan ka nanaman nila nito…..ano ba po ba ang PRC license mo as (ECT) DECORATION nalang yan at ipagyabang sa mga client or mga chicks wala naman itong selbi…. ito pa every re-new ng PRC license nyo ng (ECT) Kailangan ng CPE/CPD,30 UNITS at peperahan naman uli kayo ng IECEP Membership good for 3 yrs only….samantalang PRC License nyo walang kwenta yan invalid yan at hindi recognized sa ibang company hindi ka parin ma level -up nyan…hindi katulad ng ECE ma up-grade or ma level up sila maging (PECE)….AKO SA INYO HUWAG NA KAYONG KUMUHA NYAN.. PEPERAHAN LANG KAYO…..MABUTI PA KUMUHA NALANG KAYO NG REG. MASTER ELECTRICIAN,,RECOGNIZED KAHIT SAAN AT MAKA SIGN OR PERMA PA NG ELECTRICAL PERMIT AT WALA PANG UNITS OR CPE/CPD…..MANIWALA KAYO SA AKIN DAHIL KARANASAN KO NA IYAN…..SALAMAT PO
Kapag vocational course, kelangan graduate ng at least 2 year course in Electronics.
sa current Rules & Regulations ng Electronics Engineering Law of 2004 (RA9292) kelangan talaga graduate at least 2 year course in electronics. Kung may time & budget, ituloy mo ang pag aaral ng kahit 2 year course lang in Electronics. Ok rin may diploma, achievement din yan at if ever same parin ang Rules & Regulations ng RA9292, ul have a chance to become ECT and be recognized as Professional.

KAHIT MASTER ELECTRICIAN,,KASI MABUTI PO ANG SAMAHAN NAMIN DITO SA ORGANIZATION NAMIN (IIEE)… HINDI KAGAYA NG (IECEP) MAYABANG MGA TAO DYAN LALONG LALO NG MGA PECE

as long as Graduate ng at least 2 year course in Electronics, qualified to take ECT Board Exam.
sir Jandee, ask ko lang po kung pwd po ako magtake ng ect, graduate po ako ng 2yrs. ang course ko po ay aviation electronics technician?
sa tingin ko pede.. Apply ka lang, it’s up to the Members of the Board of Electronics Engineering kung aaprobahan o hindi ang application mo to take ECT board exam.
Hi sir, Gud day, ask ko lang po sana, gusto ko po sana kasi kumuha ng ECT, graduate na po ako ng B.S. ECE nung May 2010, and may copy na ako ng TOR ko yun nga lang walang tatak na for board exam kasi ayaw irelease ng school namin until mapasa namin yung pre-board ng ECE dept. namin, pede ko po ba ipasa sa PRC yung copy ko na TOR na walang tatak for board exam? pang ECT lang naman po kukunin ko. Kung and 5th year student na ECE wala pang TOR pede na kumuha. Pede ko po ba malaman ano ang pede namin isubmit kung di pede yung TOR na kopya ko. Thank you sir and God Bless!!!

good eve po. kumuha po ako ng ect at ece board exam nung oct 2016. ect lng po ung napasa q. at hindi ko pa po kinukuha ang ect license ko. ok lng po ba kung next year q na po kunin?
