IECEP-KSA-CRC’s Third Technical Seminar
Introduction to Primavera – P6 by Engr. Teruyuki Ito, Jr. ECE, PMP
IECEP-KSA-CRC held its 3rd Technical Seminar on Introduction to Primavera – P6 last March 27, 2015 at Orchid Al Mansour Hotel, Old Airport Road, Riyadh City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As usual, registration started at 12:30 PM having the printed online registration sheets as the guide for the paying attendees; however, walk-in participants were also entertained. A total of
39 persons attended the seminar with ten (10) officers, four (4) non-members, and twenty five (25) active members.
A warm welcome was initiated by Pres. Perry Camson followed by an invocation which was conveyed by Engr. Jandee Bonifacio. Engr. Jonathan Tiston introduced the resource speaker, Engr. Teruyuki Ito, Jr., a PMP certified and Electronics Engineer by profession.
As we all know that Primavera – P6 is a recognized standard for high-performance project management software, the seminar focused on its introduction. The speaker emphasized that it is designed to handle large-scale, highly sophisticated, and multifaceted projects. It can be used to organize projects up to 100,000 activities. It provides unlimited resources and an unlimited
number of target plans.
To achieve project and program success, he advised the participants to choose the right projects for the greatest business value, to effectively plan, manage, and control such projects both large and small.
Various topics were discussed as follows; 1) Managing Project Portfolios from Prioritization to Delivery 2) Delivering Projects on time and Within Budget 3) Assembling the Best Project Portfolio 4) Delivering End-to-End Visibility for Improved Decision-Making, 5) Enabling Real-Time Collaboration, 6) Improving One’s Agility in Changing Times, and 7) Keeping the Right Projects on the Right Track.
In between the four-hour seminar, a 15-minute coffee break was given to everybody plus some important announcements regarding PECE Batch 3, ASEAN/ACPE/APEC Engineers, IECEP Toastmasters Club, SPLBE Review and Examination Updates, and 12th Annual PPO Sports Information.
The seminar ended up with the awarding of plaque and certificates to the resource speaker and to all participants, respectively followed by the typical group picture takings.
