Riyadh –IECEP KSA CRC held its 5thTechnical Seminar last 6th of May 2016 at the White Palace Hotel in Riyadh. This seminar is a part of IECEP’s campaign to offer its members top quality seminars to satisfy their professional development needs. The seminar was attended by more than 51 professionals.
Arnil B. Azares, ECE, was the speaker of the seminar. Engr. Azares is consultant of contracting firm in Saudi Arabia. Manages contractor and subcontractors. Delegate the works of MEP/SAS/ELV and Telecom installations inside the communication rooms, mechanical rooms and electrical rooms. Routing of containment of power supply and structured cabling. Specifically define the location of Panel boards, equipment racks, switching equipment, patch panels, devices, lighting & power outlets.
Engr. Azares started the discussion from the structured cabling definition basics, where it consists of codes and standards, benefits of using EIA and TIA in SCS.
The discussion is followed by SCS Standard,Implementation and projects in Saudi Arabia installation practices, common standard issues. Type of materials and specifications for acceptance. Testing and Commissioning Procedures. Introduction to Future SCS Deployment, fast paced and multi functional SCS systems that are easy to deploy and expand. Later Discussed SCS Retrofitting and Upgrading.

Afterwards Engr Azares, shared some video clip on how exisiting systems look like and what are expected for large scale deployments, sample was the SCS deployed for Google.
After the break, Engr. Azares focused his lecture on Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and electronics Industries Alliance (EIA) manufacturer and supplier compliance. TIA/EIA Standards for Airport Facilities.
The discussion is followed by the Manhole and Handhole types, ductbanks, telecommunication entrance facilities, Room Definition and categorization.
The last part of the seminar was discussion about the Pathway, Spaces and Labelling systems. Implementation of Raceway & Conduits, Supports, Conduits and Fittings, Above Ceiling and service entrances.
IECEP-KSA-CRC successfully conducted the seminar and Engr. Azares shared his technical experiences and knowledge to attendees. The Attendees showed interest to participate in the part 2 focusing on design standards.
