In today’s growing demand for information technology, from gadgets, smart phones, notepads, mobile devices, to cutting edge network equipments; the thirst for knowledge and information expands tremendously. To be able to cope up with increasing number of networking devices, the race begins to gain outline on how these equipments performins basic network connectivity to complex muti-tasking route of data packets.
IECEP-KSA-CRC , innovated ways on exposing these minute secrets and means by providing their members the highlight of the 9th technical seminar and workshop , handled by the Institute’s own resource speaker, Engr. Ryan Paul Panilo, who is also the Vice President of Education of the current year, provided the necessary topic highlights. Held at the central region of KSA, Riyadh, White Palace Hotel, on the 20th of September year 2013, IECEP-KSA-CRC 9th technical seminar and workshop entitled “Basic Networking Seminar and Workshop” pave way to enable registrants to participate and have a brief introduction to computer networks and special hands-on participation to CISCO Router and Layer 3 Switches.
Head-starting the seminar, the registration started noon with a coffee followed by an invocation by Engr. Romeo Maribao Jr, a member of Toastmaster International. Succeeding this, IECEP-KSA-CRC/PPO President, Engr. Modesto Gibas introduced the 1st speaker for “Speak and Lead with Confidence “ Succeedingly, the final resource speaker, Engr. Ryan Paul Panilo was introduced by IECEP-KSA-CRC VP-internal , Engr. Perry Camson.
Likewise, the Cisco basic seminar and workshop was presented with notes to familiarize the audience with some major points like: importance of CISCO certifications, expected compensation, national salary trends, ranking of CISCO certifications compared to other certifications ,to name a few. Computer network saga wouldn’t be complete without a brief history starting from the dawn of transistorized computers up digital network era. Internet was founded by the DOD until its own agency, ARPAnet was phased out then in 1995, NSFNET was decommissioned and started the commercial internet.
Moreover, CISCO router and switch platform was introduced vividly through an array of pictures and a series of definition, differences, function, purpose and roles in the network. Nevertheless, to fully understand the device’s layer, OSI 7 layers were included in the discussion. In addition to this, the workshop wouldn’t be called as it is without the hands-on participation from the attendees, members and non-members alike. Thus, the Institute has its own array of CISCO devices that made the audience eager to know more the functions and commands of the IOS.
The awarding of certificates was first given to Engr. Ryan Paul Panilo as a token of appreciation. Certificates of attendees were duly signed by Resource speaker himself, Secretary General, and the Institute’s president. One by one, attendees were called in front of the stage for their souvenir photos.
Successful delivery of the seminar wouldn’t be possible without the combined effort and participation of its officers, members, and staffs of Riyadh White Palace Hotel. Thus, anticipation of another advanced approach to CISCO Technical seminar and workshop would soon to follow.
