IECEP-KSA-CRC shared its blessings of basic items and daily needs of distressed OFWs to the Bahay Kalinga (BK) shelter (Filipino Resource Center) in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The visit to BK last January 11, 2013 was intended for the less fortunate children and distressed Kababayan in this Bahay Kalinga Center
.
Initially, Engr. Moody Gibas, the 2013 Chapter President of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Central Region chapter (IECEP-KSA-CRC) and also the Philippine Professional Organization (PPO) Chairman for 2013, wrote a letter to His Excellency Labor Attache Albert Q. Valenciano for his approval of this outreach program.
Prior to the handover of the goods and basic commodities at Bahay Kalinga (BK), IECEP-KSA-CRC, solicited donations from its officers, past officers, members, supporters and non-members who support this cause in helping the needy.
The goal of IECEP is to help OFWs not only in their professional development but also in social responsibility specially to extend its hands and be involved in different outreach programs. Last year, IECEP sent a Filipino back home by giving a one way ticket to the distressed OFW. This is part of the annual outreach program of IECEP. After the visit this year, they intend to sponsor again, another plane ticket from Riyadh-Manila to at least one of the distressed OFW at BK.
Mr. Richard Seneres, the kindhearted person from BK, who assist the needs of the children and Kababayan at the shelter, toured the IECEP delegates who went to the BK accommodation to see the status of our Kababayan. Those Kababayan in BK were so thankful to IECEP members and non-members who shared their blessings to them.
This noble cause of sharing of one’s blessings is one of the organization’s Pay Forward Program. IECEP thank all those who in one way or another helped us materialized this outreach program. And, above all, we thank the almighty for His guidance in all of our activities.
More power and success to IECEP-KSA-CRC , to IECEP and to OFW in general.
